Refuting Heresy: The Davinci Code

The DaVinci Code is a book that presents a lie as fact. Simply put, it is heretical teachings. This was first warned about to us by the Apostles that such people would come on the scene.

 2 Peter 2:1  ¶But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
2  And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.

Jude 1:4  For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

The above scripture gives clear detail into the activities of certain people. They deny the only Lord God and Our Lord Jesus Christ. These are blasphemous profane people who declare falsehoods and lead millions with them into destruction. They have fallen headlone into the realm of darkness, where the abode of Satan is. These people will bring swift destruction upon themselves. For those who have yet to understand all these things. I urge you to not take in this filthy mix of profanity directed at destroying the faith of many  and particulary at the Lord Himself.

Below is an email from one of our regular email contact partners. This is from Prophecy Watch. They have some more background scripture and teaching in regards to the issue of the DaVinci Code.

The DaVinci Lie

By now surely everyone has heard of something called the DaVinci Code, a best selling book, and now a “mega” movie. However, it is actually fiction parading as “fact,” and as such is a mega-lie. The “facts,” as it goes, purports to have the “true” story of Jesus Christ and Christianity long hidden away in various books suppressed over the centuries by the Catholic Church. The reason? To cover up the “true facts” that Jesus was merely a man, or human prophet, who married His female companion, Mary Magdalene, and has left offspring to this day in the royal lineage of France. The Bible we have today is supposedly a pseudo-version forced upon believers for the past 2000 years.

This is the crux of the Lie–that our current Bible was substituted for the real “Gnostic” version–and this Lie is easily refuted. When the true facts are known about how our Bible came to us, the whole DaVinci Code edifice crumbles into the sorry fiction it really is, and exposes the demonic spirit behind the growing “DaVinci culture.” The key is in the question, “How did we get the Bible? ”

Here are the actual facts behind how our Bible came to us. These facts flow like links in a chain–without a break–straight to YOUR BIBLE! Learn these links to your Bible, and you will find confidence behind the facts that God has indeed preserved His Word just as He promised (Matthew 24:35)

1. The links in the chain in the True Word of God will flow from God the Father, to Jesus His Son, to the Apostles. “He who receives you [The Apostles] receives Me [Jesus], and he who receives Me receives Him [God] who sent Me. (Matthew 10:40) Jesus established the principal of Apostolic Authority.

2. These Bible “links” begin with the witness of the Apostles to the Life, Death, and Resurrection of Jesus. We know this first-hand witness as the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you [the Apostles] all things, and bring to your [the Apostles] remembrance all that I said to you [the Gospels]. (John 14:26) Jesus provided for Apostolic Authority.

3. The Holy Spirit would also inspire the writing of the various Epistles, or letters, that is Corinthians, Thessalonians, Ephesians, 1 John, 1 Peter, etc., etc., as well as the prophetic portions, including Revelation. “But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you [the Apostles] into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you [the Apostles] what is to come [the Book of Revelation]. (John 16:13) Again, Jesus commissioned the Apostles to be the authority behind our New Testament.

4. John reiterates that for a book to be true, or to be considered what we call a “Bible book,” it must be an Apostle’s book, for Jesus had said that the Word would flow from God to Jesus to the Apostles (points 1-3 above0. “We are from God; he who knows God listens to us; he who is not from God does not listen to us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.” (1 John 4:6) Again, any books of the New Testament must have Apostolic Authority behind them.

5. The next link, the generation who followed the Apostles, understood that a true Bible book must have the authority of the Apostles–that is, it must be either directly authored by or approved by an Apostle. Polycarp, (110AD), was a direct disciple of the Apostle John, and knew of 18 of our current 27 New Testament books as coming from the Apostles. Ireneus (130-202AD), was a disciple of Polycarp. He writes that Polycarp “always taught the things which he had learned from the apostles, and which the Church has handed down, and which alone are true.” (Haer. 3.3.4) Ireneus mentions 23 of the New Testament books. Once again, any books of the New Testament must have Apostolic Authority behind them.

6. Clement of Rome was a contemporary of the Apostles, and is probably mentioned in Phil. 4:3. He writes in 97AD, “The Apostles received the Gospel for us from the Lord Jesus Christ; Jesus the Christ was sent from God. The Christ therefore is from God and the Apostles from the Christ.” (1 Clem. 42.1-2) Clement quotes from 10 of our current 27 New Testament books, including the Gospels of Matthew and John. From the beginning the true church was steadfast that any books of the New Testament must have Apostolic Authority behind them.

7. The next link in this unbroken chain is found in a Latin Manuscript dated 170AD, called “The Muratorian Canon.” It names 23 of our 27 New Testament books as received by all churches at that time. These Apostolic books, scattered all across the Roman Empire, were beginning to “link” up with one another into our current Bible, long before any “church council.” The church simply recognized those books of the New Testament that had Apostolic Authority behind them.

8. The earliest church council to make an official pronouncement was the Council Of Hippo (393AD). It made official in the churches what the Apostles and the next generation Church Fathers had already declared to be true: The same 27 books we have in our Bible today were the accepted Books of the Apostles. They had been used as such by the Church since the days of the Apostles, who were the appointed eyewitnesses to Jesus Christ, who was God the Son sent by God the Father.

9. The trail of Bible copies leading back from our current Bible to the earliest Bible manuscripts (thousands of them) show that the Bible of the first generation church was the same Bible we have today! Therefore, we have today the very Bible that Jesus promised through His apostles!

In the above, we can clearly see the historical fulfillment of what the Scriptures bear witness to… that is,

1. Jesus commissioned 12 Apostles to “remember” the Gosples (John 14:26), and to write down through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit “all truth” in The Epistles (John 16:13), and to write the prophecies of “what is to come,” including The Book Of Revelation (John 16:13). “After it [the Word of God] was at the first spoken through the Lord, it was confirmed to us by those who heard [the Apostles]” (Hebrews 2:3)

2. The Apostles taught that it was only their witness that would determine the truth about Jesus Christ and God (1 John 4:6), and that the church would be built on that witness. “[The Church] having been built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the corner stone” (Ephesians 2:20)

3. The Apostles, who were required to be eyewitnesses of the Resurrected Christ (Acts 1:22; 1 Cor. 9:1; 15:6-8), all lived and died in the first century. Therefore, all of the so-called “hidden” books mentioned in the DaVinci Code, written in the 2nd century or later, do not have this Apostolic Authority. That is why the church never accepted them as part of the inspired Bible.

4. The process of how we got our Bible can be compared to 27 gold coins mixed in with a jumble of copper coins. Which ones are the “precious” coins? The search is on. The discoverer–say a Council Of Coin Experts–doesn’t determine which ones are “precious.” They simply discover what is already inherent in the gold coins themselves–and pronounce them to be the “precious coins.” At first, they only find 10. Then 18. Then 23, and finally 27. Why? Because these precious coins have been scattered far and wide among the jumble of copper coins. The gold coins were always “authentic precious coins.” The official pronouncment of the Council Of Coin Experts didn’t make it that way. They only discovered what already was a fact, and made the official pronouncement that the precious coins had been distinguished from the many and varied look-a-like copper coins. That is the way our Bible came to us. The objective and determinative evidence for the true Word of God was the already exista!
nt Apostolic Authority, not any church council pronouncement. And the ancient Christian Church knew which books had Apostolic Authority (authorship/approval) long before any church council made the pronouncement.

Therefore, knowing that our Bible has Apostolic Authority and is the true Word Of God, all of the mumbo-jumbo fiction passed as fact about Jesus, Mary Magdalene, the Holy Grail, Church Conspiracies, etc., can be shown to be not only fiction, but demonic-fiction, by the Bible itself! That is why the crux of the issue is “How did we get the Bible? ” Once we discover that FACT, the rest of the “DaVinci facts” evaporate in a puff of fiction.

Many of the “other books” which were not accepted into the Bible had good intentions, sound reading, and even edifying content. But why were they not accepted into the Bible? They did not have the certificate of authenticity–Apostolic Authority.

What about the so-called “Gnostic gospels” ? These were blatantly false gospels. They proclaim “another Jesus” (2 Cor. 11:4), a Jesus who is only Divine in spirit, but who occupied evil human flesh. They proclaim that we all have this same “divine spirit” within us. We just don’t KNOW it. Thus, we have the word “gnostic,” from the Greek term “gnosis,” or secret knowledge. To get this secret knowledge, one needs to meditate and get in tune with the true “god,” and realize that we are all already a little “god” on our spiritual spiral to the same “divine spirit” that made Jesus who he is–a little god who became a fuller god! If this sounds like Hinduism, or modern-day new age stuff, it is. This reincarnation/enlightenment gospel was born in the Garden of Eden when Satan promised manking that his your eyes will be opened [enlightenment/gnosis/knowledge], and you will be like God [divine spirit], knowing good and evil [making your own judgments on right and wrong].” (Genesis 3!

Here is the amazing part! The Bible foretells that this “Gnostic gospel” will rise again at the End Time to become the “spirit of the antichrist.” The Book of 1 John was written to combat these gnostic gospels in the first century. The gnostics were proclaiming that the real Jesus was only a divine spirit, but not a man in human flesh, and thus He could not really die as a man dies, and be resurrected. The Apostle John writes,

“Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God; and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God; and this is the spirit of the antichrist, of which you have heard that it is coming, and now it is already in the world. (1 John 4:1-3)

This “spirit of the antichrist” has arisen big-time through the DaVince (Lie) Code! Don’t be taken in by it.
