Part 6
“And a fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth.”
Rev 9:1
The stars that we see twinkling in the night sky do not fall to earth from heaven. Heaven is a particular place and is the abode of the Most High God and His son and the 24 elders and myriads of spirit men we call angels. It is probable that this realm called heaven is outside our solar system. That is, we are in a sort of time bubble. The universe we inhabit is governed by time. But God is not.
Therefore I believe that heaven and God and the heavenly host that dwells there, are outside the time bubble universe of which earth is a part along with the billions of stars and planets and other galaxies that make up our cosmos. So when it speaks of a star falling from heaven to earth, it is referring to an angel falling to earth. When you see what we call a falling star, shooting across the night sky, that is not a star at all but a small body of matter known as a meteor from outer space that becomes incandescent as a result of friction with the earth’s atmosphere.
Angels are often referred to in scripture as stars and also as the heavenly host.
“Where were you when I laid the earth’s foundation? Tell me, if you have understanding.
Who marked off its dimensions? Surely you know.
Who stretched a measuring line across it?
On what were its footings set, or who laid its cornerstone?
When the morning stars sang together and all the sons of God shouted for joy.”
Job 38:4-7
The sons of God are the angels and are here called the morning stars. Isaiah 14:12, speaking of another angel says; “How you have fallen from heaven, o morning star, son of the dawn.”

We have learned that the Abyss is a place of incarceration for both spirits and angels. This place is a subterranean prison which is also named Tartarus and the bottomless pit. So what is the difference between angels and spirits? Most folks think of spirits as invisible, ethereal entities that haunt houses or possess demented humans. But what relation do spirits have with angels? Hebrews 1:13,14
“But to which of the angels said he at any time, sit on my right hand until I make your enemies thy footstool?
Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?”
This is referring to what we call guardian angels who minister to those of us who are saved Christians. But it also tells us that angels are spirits. In vs. 7 of this same chapter we read, “Who maketh his angels spirits and his ministers a flame of fire.” Twice in the same chapter we are told that angels are spirits.
Another clear example of this truth is given in the Book of Acts chapter 8. This is the record of Philip who was told by and angel to go and speak to a eunuch who was high up in the government of Candace, queen of Ethiopia. After teaching this man the truth regarding the resurrection, the eunuch asks to be baptized and says that he believes that Jesus is the Son of God. Here are a few clips from the story;
26 “And the angel of the Lord spake unto Philip saying…”
29 “And the Spirit said unto Philip, go near…”
39“And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip that the eunuch saw him no more…But Philip was found at Azotus.”
It was “the angel of the Lord” who was sent on a special mission to Philip. Immediately afterwards the same being is called a spirit – “the spirit said unto Philip,” while in verse 39 the same angelic messenger is called “the spirit of the Lord” (i.e. the spirit sent by the Lord), who finished his mission by catching Philip away to Azotus. Thus we speak of someone being “spirited away.”

Part 4

Speculation as to the identity of the Antichrist often appears in writings or talks given by experts in the field of eschatology. Eschatology is the technical name for the study of End Times Bible prophecy. Just about everyone thinks that the Antichrist is a human being who will rise to power and take control of the world by political means. Some scholars believe this man will emerge as the leader of the European Union (EU). Others say he will come from the combined forces of the United Nations (UN). I have even heard a noted prophecy teacher name a particular Arab leader and states with certainty that this is the man who indeed will be the Antichrist.
I am going to approach this from a totally different angle with what you might call, lateral thinking. I am going to go to certain passages in the Bible which speak of this man and I am going to take a literal interpretation of their meaning. Where it is obvious that the language is figurative or symbolic, we will endeavour to point this out and derive the correct interpretation. For, as was earlier stated, even parables have a literal meaning.

PART 1
With the nearness of the advent of the coming Apocalypse, many prophecy scholars and Bible teachers have been keeping an eagle eye out to see if they can spot a likely contender who may just be the dreaded Antichrist.
Hitler, Stalin and Pol Pot are names which have been bandied about in recent history as likely fitting his description. Various Caesars and especially Nero seemed to fit the bill in bygone days along with a few of the Popes.
But what of this Antichrist and how can we be sure that we know exactly who he is when he eventually shows up?
I intend to have a stab at identifying this person in a series of short articles over the coming weeks. I will attempt to do this task from our primary source for truth, the Bible. Before I begin to delve into this important topic, I need to set the ground rules.
That is, that I firmly believe that we should allow the Word to speak for itself. I believe that most of the Bible is plain and simple and easy to understand and is to be taken literally for the most part. Even parables have a literal interpretation. And where figures of speech are used, we can identify them and seek their literal meaning.
