His Majesty revealed in Nature

Ezekiel 34:23  And I will set up one shepherd over them, and he shall feed them, even my servant David; he shall feed them, and he shall be their shepherd.
Luke 1:69  And hath raised up an horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David;
Isaiah 55:3  Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.
Acts 13:34  And as concerning that he raised him up from the dead, now no more to return to corruption, he said on this wise, I will give you the sure mercies of David.

The sure mercies of David are Gods promises to the Jewish people and to all gentiles who would believe, that God has set up a horn of salvation. A horn representing strength, this one who was to come would bring salvation. Many at the time when Jesus Christ, (Messiah Yeshua) came, thought he would restore the Kingdom to the Jews. By taking back the lands God promised them from the Roman Empire, they thought this would be the fulfillment of David’s kingdom.

The kingdom that Jesus came to build was not an earthly one. As Jesus told Pilate, “My kingdom is not of this world”. Even the disciples thought he would take over the kingdom from the Romans. They thought that everyone would follow him in this, for with his power, none could resist from following this Christ to war. But Christ came not to kill, but to deliver. Not from physical slavery, but from death. That is separation from God. This was the true salvation and horn of David that Jesus brought. Along with this the Kingdom of God would be manifested in Power and glory at the end of the age. But for now, the salvation would be given to all that would believe on this Christ, who brought the ‘sure mercies of David’.

John 18:36  Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.

The horn of salvation meant that deliverance for man from the sins that separated him from God would be sure. The overriding purpose then, was to bring to man the true knowledge of God and a relationship for all eternity. Jesus spoke of this, “that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou has sent”.

John 17:1  ¶These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee:
2  As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.
3  And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
4  I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.
5  And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.

These prophecies are important. They are the ‘sure mercies of David’. Those promises the Father gave to the house of David along with all those who would accept them would not be disappointed. These promises are sure and eternal, just as the Father is eternal. They cannot be stopped, for they come out of the bosom of the Father, brought by His son Jesus Christ, Himself. Prophecy speaks of this fulfillment on the earth, when all of the heavens watched as Christ fulfilled the Fathers command.

Jesus Christ spoke of the Fathers wishes. This is another scriptural prophecy. It speaks of what the Father seeks. He simply seeks to let people know Him. When man meets the real God, they fall in Love with Him, and worship Him. God the Father wants man to know Him. Really know Him, to worship Him in Spirit and in Truth. Out of the heart, man comes to Know God. He seeks the Father because as with Moses, Abraham, and even David, they know God for who He is. God the Father is love, justice, and full of holiness. But, many today have made Him into a piece of slick merchandise to be marketed. He is not a theological concept of some church ideology. He is not there just to give us things, gifts, or provide for us. God the Father sent His Son that we might find the mercies extended to David. These mercies mean that we would find salvation, hope, love, and truth. That in all we look for in life that is cheap, unfulfilling, and never lasts, we might find the real satisfaction in the true God.

John 4:23  But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him

Moreover, this finding of God, we come to know Him as he is. Sure we know His judgment and justice sides. We know his provision side, but to know Him as he is. God is a real loving God who wants to walk with us in the cool of the day. Just as He did with Adam in the Garden, the Father wants to share His life with us. No cheap thrills or tricks, just a loving relationship with a true Father who loves all men. That is why He sent His Son Jesus Christ to die for our sins. To bring us back to that point where we can truly know Him.

Even today, we can know this God of ours. Through Jesus Christ and a supply of His Spirit, we can know Him. We can worship, talk, fellowship, and enjoy His presence. Today we enjoy it in private, alone, sharing with God. Although, we do not physically enter into His presence, one day we will. One day you and I will be in His presence. We shall see Him face to face.

This is the prophecy of the future presence of God with man. It tells us we shall live in a time with no more curse. This means no death, hell, grave, sickness, crying, sadness, and no more temporal worldly life. We shall be in the presence of the Father, Son, Holy Spirit and the Hosts of heaven. His name will be in our foreheads. We shall see His face. There will be no night or candle. We will not need generators or power plants. We won’t need the sun or moon. We will have our God. God will be the light, and he will give us light. This is our hope today. To know Him, the one True God, and Jesus Christ whom he has sent.

Revelation 22:3  And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:
4  And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads.
5  And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.

I urge you today, to get to know the real, true God. Spend time knowing Him today. No cheap tricks or thrills. Just get to really know Him. He wants you to know Him now…

God bless..The Watchman
