I am a Wyoming Native and have seen the weather change at a moments notice. Over the years I have seen deep snow, running torrents of rain, and only a small amount of Tornado activity. This year has broken my recollection of the amount of green.
Especially here in Casper is the green seen. We have had previous amounts of rain and moisture here in the area. Because of the recent spring snow and rain, our fields, grasses, mountains, and even rivers are looking very good. But according to a Casper Star Tribune report, which said, that the state’s reservoirs “continue to struggle with the consequences of long-term drought and irrigators face a season of low reservoirs and short rations of water”. Our lakes around here are low. Over the years, drought has drained them low to the point of revealing lakebeds. It will take much more moisture to replace all the water.
There is no doubt that the mountains seem to have more snow levels. From a distant, one can see the peaks full of the white stuff. Yet, reports say our snow pack still was not good enough to erase the drought.
While we have seen an increase in spring rain and snow, weather around the USA has been varied. From tornado activity in the Midwest, to fires in California, and to fires in Florida, weather has been the talk of the news this year. But then, we are living in this time of the Prophetic calendar which says these things will come to pass. Just read Matthew 24, Mark 13, and Luke 21. All point to the ‘beginning of sorrows’, which is the point in the Prophetic timeline that many believe we are at.
There is no doubt though, the spring in Wyoming this year is the greenest I have ever seen. When things get so nice, I usually duck and run for cover. When things are going this way, I wonder “Okay, so what is really coming?” Overall, though, I would rather be in this state than in any other. Even though the threat of Yellowstone blowing up all seven states (Wyoming, Montana, Colorado, Kansas, Idaho, South Dakota, and North Dakota) that are close to her, should it blow. The recent rumblings made national news and some news came out that this could be a monitor of what is coming.
I have watched the Yellowstone scenario on the Discovery channel when it aired. No doubt, from the show, if it should blow, I could not drive fast enough to outrun it. The heat and gas wave cloud would travel across Wyoming to other states in a half hour. Man that is fast. But in all this, one must trust the Lord. After all, he is in charge. He said that these are the beginnings of troubles. He also said all these must come to pass. So while I am enjoying the spring and summer around here, I trust the Lord to deliver me and my family from real dangerous scenarios. All the while I thank Him for one more day of Grace and health. Be ye thankful to the Lord, for this is good.
