Nwsltr-012410-The Abundant LIFE of Christ Jesus
“What does it mean to have an ‘abundant life’?
Here are pertinent truths on this saying that many misuse and misdirect Christians in their walk for Him!
By the Watchman Dana G Smith
Keywords: abundant life, faith, America, sheep, shepherd, cross, disciple
Words:2988
I am writing this week about the ‘abundant life’, one that many in America seem to know so well. Or do they? When speaking to this issue will I take rank and file against those who promote the doctrine that many top Evangelical leaders teach? No, I shall not! They have their reward, I do quote here something for your first thought regarding this issue!

Psalms 50:16 ¶But unto the wicked God saith, What hast thou to do to declare my statutes, or that thou shouldest take my covenant in thy mouth?
17 Seeing thou hatest instruction, and castest my words behind thee.
18 When thou sawest a thief, then thou consentedst with him, and hast been partaker with adulterers.
19 Thou givest thy mouth to evil, and thy tongue frameth deceit.
20 Thou sittest and speakest against thy brother; thou slanderest thine own mother’s son.
21 These things hast thou done, and I kept silence; thou thoughtest that I was altogether such an one as thyself: but I will reprove thee, and set them in order before thine eyes.
22 Now consider this, ye that forget God, lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver.
23 Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me: and to him that ordereth his conversation aright will I shew the salvation of God.

‘Recalling the Toil of the Grandfathers and the work of God’
by the Watchman Dana G Smith
My Grandfather on my mothers side lived in the state I now live in. He was Pennsylvania Dutch, a Farmer. His background was from a certain religious group that did not follow him to this part of the country. He never talked about it much, suffice it to say, His background was a strict one, I believe. He and grandmother were married not out of love, but of necessity; many during that era did the same thing. It was a matter of survival and a woman needed a man, as well, a man needing a good strong woman to bear a family and keep the house, and more! For Grandmother had three children, two girls and one boy. But she also kept house, cooked, planted the garden, harvested, canned, feed chickens, plucked them, and found time to play cards, sew, and be with the family.
It was a hard life. For us growing up a visit to the farm meant animals, a long country drive, and we were not impressed with the fresh milk, fresh eggs, fresh butter, fresh cream, meat from their own farm, and hand sewn quilts. Today, though, I appreciate it and realize the hard work that went into it. For my grandparents, work was the function to do in order to stay alive. They worked on the farm from 4 am to dusk, seven days a week. Grandad had beets, alfalfa, and other crops, along with standard farm fare of animals.

The Cup and the Baptism of Suffering
by the Watchman Dana G Smith
Keywords: cup, baptism, Jesus, death, cross, suffering, righteous, judgment, church
Words: 4757
There are only certain ones who shall listen and truly hear the Lord. Those who are the Lord’s will hear his voice, everyone else will not! If they hear his voice, then, they shall follow him. If they obey his Word, then they will read these words and understand his Word in them.
The righteous Judgment of God upon the end time church in the world. The judgment, the separation of the sheep from the shepherds, and the gathering of the remnant of God. The ‘cup and the baptism’ of the LORD is ours to drink and to fully undergo in his name.
We are told by the Apostle Peter that the “the time is come that ‘judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God.’ Here we see a divine separation that God, in his Righteous Judgment allows. Such a dividing line that through the ‘suffering’ as a Christian, God is righteous, in a judicial sense, allowing ‘suffering’ to be used in this sense to separate and judge those who believe. In the passages below regarding ‘judgment’ and ‘righteous judgment’, both are used in a context, in which, the believers are suffering as Christians. Pointedly here, persecuted and facing tribulation all because of Christ. It is here we find that the Apostle Paul tells the Thessalonians in verse four of chapter one that ‘we glory in you in the churches of God’. Why did the Apostle and those with him glory as such? Because he says “For your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye endure.” It is the righteous judgment of God to allow this, sifting, shaking, and bringing believers in the true position with Christ, in which they share in Christ, in his sufferings!
Judgment: krisis (??????, 2920) primarily denotes “a separating,” then, “a decision, judgment,” most frequently in a forensic sense, and especially of divine “judgment1, executing of divine judgment.

Newsltr122009-Heart of Mercy Amidst a Season of Trouble
“Amidst a season of trouble, there awaits a heart of Mercy”
by the Watchman Dana G Smith
Keywords: heart, Lord, God, Jesus, Christ, despair, discontent, winter, depression, love
As I sit here in the early morning hours, the weather has been warming up. The cold snap has moved away. Thus another portion begins. One begins, another follows, till the season of winter is over. That is one thing we have here is winter. Last September, I wrote an article titled, “America’s Winter of Discontent”. Winter can be a tough time for many. Especially around Christmas time. Many today celebrate this holiday, but the season of celebrating for many goes from Thanksgiving to New Years. During that time, people can go through depression and turmoil. It is a fact that Christmas depression and related troubles hit many during this time. Factor in the ‘winter’, ‘cold’, and some being ‘alone’, it can bring on such troubles.
For years winter was a bothersome time to me, including holidays. Today, however, by the presence of the Lord and his power, it is no longer that way. Those times were times of struggling with the Lord over certain things I had gone through and his people. Yes, the people of God, the deacons, the Pastors, and I had a quarrel. It was a long running feud between me and the Lord. In the end, my ways, and the root of bitterness that had built up, were uprooted and torn to shreds by the power of God and my repentance. Although I was indeed harmed, through no fault of my own, or so I thought, by the so called people of God, I kept the wound festering and root growing. But the Lord helped to realize that this root was hurting me more than the people who had actually been part of it. One of my sins in that church was being to zealous. As many of you know, for I have said it on air, two deacons caught me alone on the stairwell on a Sunday am service and castigated my zeal for the Lord saying “we don’t want your kind here, your to zealous.” “Take your bags and go back to school and leave.” Soon I would go from believing I was in the perfect will of God to being with my family alone, in a different state, unemployed, and at Christmas. We were taught in school to always preach with your bags packed, but somehow, at this time, the teaching did not seem to help any!

Nwsltr122709-I Saw and Bore Record,This is the Son of God
By the Watchman
Dana G Smith
Keywords: John baptist, Jesus, Yeshua, Lamb of God, Son of God, Spirit of God, God, light, Word, logos, life, light, man
Words: 2061
“A dynamic testimony for anyone would be able to say, ‘I saw and bare record that this is the Son of God,’ but for us today, we live by faith and have not seen personally this Son of God, but we still believe, based on this testimony and others like it. For with this testimony, and the work of the Spirit of God, the anointing breaks open the darkness in our hearts to let in the light of the
Gospel, the good news of salvation. That good news is, God sent forth his Son to save sinners, of which, I am; but thanks to God, through the ‘Lamb of God, I now have been rescued by the ‘blood of the covenant’. God has also given us his Spirit, which bears witness in our hearts, that we are the children of God! ”
John 1:34 And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God.
Romans 8:16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
1 John 5:6 ¶This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.
